Hi everybody!
I am studying the behaviour of beams reinforced by FRP composites. I am using Solid65 for the concrete, solif45 for the composite and inter205 for the interface between them, using the Cohesive Zone Modeling for this interface.
I am having problems with the mesh of this interface. The command I used were:
TB,CZM,7,,,EXPO
TBDATA,1,TNMAX,GMAX,1000.0
CZMESH,,,1,Y,0
However, the czmesh command was ignored and I found this message:
"Elements to be separated by cohesive elements are of more than one stiffness number (45 and 65, perhaps, more)".
Does anybody knows how can I solve this kind of problem?

- When using interface elements inter205, the materials that you want to bond using this element should be of the same element type i.e. when using interface elements inter205 you can physically model the adhesive layer (with assigning it adhesive properties and slice it into two layers and apply inter205 in this slice interface in order to avoid solution errors or it can be two different element but they should have the same degrees of freedom (Solid185 with Solid65 could work without physically modeling the adhesive layer.
- Another simple approach is by using contact elements CONTA174 and TARGE170. Using this approach you don't have to physically simulate the adhesive material i.e. the adhesive will be simulated through the contact elements with zero mm thickness.
