Dear collegues, your help is needed.
In our lab we cover slides manually. Now with use Canada Balsam by Panreac (https://www.applichem.com/en/shop/product-detail/as/canada-balsam-dc)
After mounting with this balsam slides do not dry. At all. Before this balsam with use old one which was bought 20 years ago :). There was no problem with the old one.
I think that the problem is with technology. Maybe this balsam is not suitable for manual covering. Maybe special device is needed with temperature conditions.
Please help me with your advice.
P.S. I know about other mounting medium line eukitt and so on. But due to some ukrainian features))) we have to use canada balsam.
If it is true Canada Balsam--depending on the diluent (Xylene?), it should dry, but thick areas some times remain tacky. To test this, place some on a slide and then put it in a warm (not hot) oven. It should dry and feel a bit sticky, eventually it will feel hard. If it does not harden at all, it may have something other than xylene in it. For your slides, when cover slipped, you can dry them in the oven also. If you get a lot of bubbles after the drying, this means that it was diluted too much. In this case do not cover the bottle but let it evaporate till it gets a bit thicker. Then try cover slipping with the thicker version. Good luck
You can use small amount of xylene to dilute it.Then put the slides after completing cover slipped into incubator at 37 degree centigrade.

i don‘t answer about that because i want uestion How do you thin the thick Canada balsam ? Because wheni have a canada balsam always dry so i’m difficult to preparation may sample
