I've a nano-scaled graphite like material, the XRD pattern is showing some peaks which are not matching with any of the reported literature. For example usually a broad peak is seen around 21 degrees, in my case along with this peak I'm seeing an intense peak around 13 degrees, which I've been unable to index. How do I proceed to identify this peak? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You said "graphite-like" sample, but did not give any further information.
Knowing that limited information, I think you should consider the structure of graphene/graphite oxide, which has a peak at around 2theta = 13 degrees.
