I have a pressure pulse curve for impact loading which I am applying with the amplitude option. I would like to apply it for 10000 cycles. How can I minimize the computation time for such case?
Dear Kaustubh Kulkarni , with dynamic explicit analysis you can use time scaling to reduce the time. The only problem is that without a prior calibration on some experimental results it can lead to some unrealistic results, so use it with caution.
You can also scale directly the mass of your system. However as Chira mentioned it is important to use this with caution because you may end with unrealistic results.
I would analize results after certain number of cycles to see if saturation occurs. If this is not the case, for example plastic deformations are constantly growing after each cycle, unfortunately, you have no choice but to continue cycle by cycle. And don't forget to use the appropriate materials models suitable for multicycling, since usual models don't work in this case.
