Due to age-old exposure to sunlight , pressure, temperature, and difference in pH, is it not possible that the DNA within the fossils would have been mutated? How can it be considered as reliable information?

It depends upon the type of fossil. The interior of teeth and bones can retain DNA in colder climates.
An impression fossil. where you see the outline of a shell, would not contain recoverable DNA.
