I think it is hard to answer this question at large. Since you are talking about two very powerful and renowned solvers (Abaqus and Ansys) they will probably give you profound results (which will certainly not be similar). The accuracy and quality of results will mostly be depending on the quality of your model and the assumptions you made to build it.

Talking about accuracy arises the question to what kind of data you are comparing your results or how you would evaluate the quality of results. If you are unsure, you will probably get best insights of your problem by simulating it in both solvers and, if possible, by comparing it to experimental data.

Thank you for your response. I agree with you. Although they both are giants of the market, the accuracy highly depends on the inputs and assumptions. However, I am curious whether the Abaqus/CFD is generally suitable for the job or not. I've seen many people using ANSYS Fluent for CFD analysis, but few Abaqus/CFD users, on the other hand. Furthermore, testing the mentioned process in both software with the intention of comparison would be highly time-consuming, since the model is sophisticated.

Moreover, Simulia has discontinued the CFD feature in newer versions of Abaqus and I wonder if it is related to its limited capabilities or not.

ANSYS Fluent is more common for CFD analysis.. I believe Abqus would be equally accurate but probably less capable compared to ANSYS.

Thank you Vinod Kushvaha. I wonder if any of these packages are capable of giving authentic results in my case study, due to the high complexity and nonlinearity of the problem. I guess I have to try to find out!
