I also can add a recipe for home made stain free gels.

Biorad's stain free solutions and precats gels are quite expensive, but they can be easily prepared at lab - just by adding 50 mkl of 2,2,2-Trichloroethanol  to each 10 ml of PAGE solution before pouring or by staining the gel after running. I am attaching the manuscript with description of this method.

Today I'd like to upload 3D models for gel combs I designed with OpenScad. When 3D printed they are elastic, not like the classical polycarbonate ones that break if you drop them. You can tweak the design to make these combs to whatever sizes you like, and to make them compatible with multichannel pipettes (like the biggest ones in this model).

I attach a .png image of the combs so you can see them straight away.

I just wanted to post a link to the LAB (lithium-acetate-borate) buffer recipe. It is a running buffer for agarose gels that works especially well when you want to resolve small PCR bands (I would say up to 1kb is just great).

Advantages:

- you can run gels at 30V/cm, instead of the common 10V/cm of TAE or TBE. This means that you can resolve bands in 1.5Kb) it does not resolve well, and for much bigger ones (e.g. 4Kb) TAE is much better.
