Hollow Fiber dip coating and drying procedure?

Hi All,

Regarding to coating of hollow fiber membranes by a polymeric solution in the lab, should the fibers be immersed vertically or horizontally? what about this direction for drying after immersion?

if you have any other useful tips or information/document about dip coating manually without a dip coating set-up, please share with me.

In the laboratory I dip coat silk tubes vertically and dry them in methanol - also vertically. I built a simple dip coating robot with linear actuators to make the tubes more consistent through more uniform dipping speeds.
