Specifically we want to compare out mutant fish to WT fish at day 8 or day 9 post fertilization. We have tried GFAP, NeuN and alpha tubulin based on recommendations from collaborators, but we can only visualize what we think is the olfactory bulb. Are there antibodies that can stain more broadly at our later developmental time point? Thanks!
If you are looking for gross brain anathomy as you menction... toluidine blue stain is very usefull... I already did it in zebra fish brains.... If you are looking for specifis markers... I have not more experience to advice you in this. Good luck!!!

I am not quite sure what you are looking for--something like a Nissl stain (not antibody based)?
Otherwise, some of the anti-neurofilament antibodies might be useful, like 3A10:

As for anti-GFAP, only the DAKO polyclonal is listed in the ZFIN database as shown to work on developing fish, as opposed to adults:

Thank you both. I may have misspoken by saying gross brain morphology. We are looking for an antibody that can stain the brain broadly, and staining the neurofilaments sounds like a good way to accomplish this. Thanks Jill!

You are welcome. I hope you are able to acquire the 3A10 antibody, since it has been shown to work in zebrafish. Unfortunately in fish (I work in goldfish mostly) you can't always get an antibody that recognizes one of the mammalian neurofilaments to label the neurons.
