Hi,

Depending on the supported hypotheses in the analysis process required, perfect elastic perfect, elastic perfect plastic, strain hardening.

For your case:

Linear Analysis: you do not need yield stress

Plastic Analysis: you need yield stress

But, it depends from the analysis process (Elastic Perfect, Elastic Perfect Plastic, and so on).
