I need to perform nodose ganglion injections in anesthetized rats attached on stereotaxic frame.

In fact, it is fairly easy to dissect and reach nodose ganglion when animal is placed in supine position. However, I have no idea how could it be possible when rat is placed on steretaxic frame in prone position. I have come across couple papers mentioning "short dorsal approach" but couldn't find any supportive materials. I would appreciate sharing ideas. Thanks in advance
