In our experiment we used DEN to induce HCC in mice and to one group we apply also capsaicin to prevent HCC formation. After the end of the experiment we want to measure the apoptosis in liver tissue homogenate with the caspase-3 ELISA test and for HCC detection we want to use the glutamine-synthetase ELISA test. Does anybody have experiences with experiment like this or would you recommend me something better?

i recommend to you to do fomalin fixed liver tissue. then process till you get sections and immunostain for caspase. by using image analysis you could measure the area % stained for caspase

I recommend, as well, immunostaining for glutamine synthetase and other marker such as alpha fetoprotein, glypican3, etc
