I usually used Lipofectamine RNAiMAX for siRNA transfection. However, I’ve also tried with Lipofectamine 3000 several times and it's worked. This is protocol:

Cells: 60-80% confluent on the day of transfection.

siRNA 10pmol/ul

Tube A: OptiMEM or medium free serum : 5ul + Lipofectamine 1.5ul

TubeB: OptiMEM or medium free serum : 5ul + siRNA 0.3ul (3pmol)

Mix A&B, incubate 10min

Add 10ul complex to cells

Analyze transfected cells at 24-72 h
