I found that alternative to formamide agarose gel in this article:

... which seems very convenient! However, I wonder if it's better to add the bleach before microwaving the agarose or immediately after while it's still hot, or after cooling? I think it would probably evaporate a bit in the microwave... or isn't it the point of putting it before melting the agarose?
Also, we don't use ethidium bromide anymore (it's been pretty much ''eradicated'' from the whole research center I believe...), we switched to RedSafe. Would it be compatible to the agarose bleach gel?
