After digesting cartilage tissue in a collagenase solution, I always observe tiny oil-like droplets floating the digested suspension. Has anyone made a similar observation? Is the tissue a source of the oil droplets or is it the collagenase?
Hi...I never counter the droplet issue..its probably from the soft tissue intact with the cartilage during harvesting..and its depend on which area you are collecting the samples..normally muscles or fat pad causing this prob..
Normally when you are isolating cartilage tissue alone oil droplets will not be there. But along with cartilage, adjacent adipose tissue or fat pad you are processing then these oil droplets can be present. this is not becoz of enzyme.
