Because of logistics I have to store my stained and fixed cells for 3 days before flow cytometry. Has this ever worked for anyone? I am used to staining and analysing on the same day...

I have stained on friday and analysed on monday. That will depend on:
- proper storage (avoid light, stable pH and 4oC)
- fluorophore intensity and stability. Tandem dyes (i.e PE Cy7) and less stable and usualy suffer decoupling.
- antigen density. If you have a low expressed antigen and the fluorescence decays you may not be able to detect it nicely.

Hey Cora,
In my experience, the bright colors (e.g. PE and APC), but not the dim colors (e.g. FITC), are fine for a week for flow cytometry after sample staining/fixing. However, it's better to use them a day or two after the fixation. Hope it helps :)
