Mice don't express IL8 (or the receptor CXCR1).. MIP-2 and KC are suggested to be functional homologues. R&D systems has good ELISAs for these cytokines.

As said by the colleagues, the mice don't have the IL-8 functional gene. As said by M. Piesche, the murine orthologs of human GRO alpha (CXCL1; i.e. murine KC) and of human GRO beta (CXCL2; MIP2-alpha) are often studied instead.
