i am of the opinion that the notion of 2 is of great importance. However, the most powerful force in my life has been the power of 3-- those being Belief, Love, and Hope. i "know" not Love, i have Hope(by challenging my doubt), being open to the "Truth' provides me with Belief.
BELIEF, LOVE, and HOPE provides me the strength to overcome the darkness of Despair, Hate, and Knowledge(also known as the"Lie" in the absence of ignorance). Evidentiary reasoning for this last statement can be found by Carl Sagan's inability to Believe in anything he did not "Know". Whereas Einstein saw the "clock" but did not "Know" the Clock Maker and as such discovered the principle of relativity -- maybe through his love of music ~~ you think?
Simplicity is the art of living quietly and peacefully to get rid of everything that is surplus, whether on the ordinary level and that means property and things or psychologically and that means negative thoughts.
Happiness is a subjective and personal matter and it means different things to different individuals. As Albert Camus states, "You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of". Consequently, happiness is one's attempt to find meaning in life, and surely, there are so many ways to do this. There is not just a fixed formula.
Simplicity and beauty can glorify our characteristic. I respect but don't agree completely that the Happiness comes from two tributaries: Simplicity and beauty. It comes from mainly self satisfaction.
Happiness, simplicity, and beauty are highly interconnected notions in multiple practical observations, records, and every individual's practical experiences. It makes us easily agreeing with this statement. For instance:
Simplicity is indeed often the sign of truth and a criterion of beauty.
- Mahlon Hoagland
_____
The ideal of beauty is simplicity and tranquility.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
_____
Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on Simplicity.
Dear Dr. Salam Jassim Hmood , thanks for this nice discussion,
Happiness is found in the simplest of things. Happiness is found in gratitude, in a kept promise, in a good conversation, in love, in friendship, in an achieved goal, in a fond memory; in all the simple magnificence of life.
Confucius, as always, was right, but as always, only partly ... What is a beauty? Is it an absolute or cultural criterion? Will the Chinese beauty be perceived in the same way in Africa? Or is American iсon Monroe looking pretty and beautiful in the Middle East too?
I recall the story of one of my older colleagues, who studied with Chinese students in the late 1950s in Yekaterinburg (then - Sverdlovsk). They chatted with a Chinese friend about girls and my colleague asked: "Do you like Russian girls?". The Chinese guy hesitated for a long time, and then squeezed out of himself: "Yes, they are cute, but why do they have such wide eyes, it spoils them!"
As for simplicity, the Russians have a saying: Simplicity is worse than theft. If everything is simple and clear in a person, then it is uninteresting. Many prefer complexity, difficulty, achievement, even competition. Only in this case the target seems valuable.
Both simplicity and beauty can be sources of happiness, but it is hard to see this as a principle. Simplicity and beauty can also be sources of evil. I am often surprised that simple things make me happy and that happiness can be simple. I am also often surprised that many things can be beautiful if I meet them with openness and interest.
Simplicity and beauty lead the person towards happiness and creativity in a complex life imposed on the human being to live forced, not to choose...
A student asked his teacher who gave him zero on his exam because he provoked him: Why do you expose physics in a complex way and the beauty of science in the ability to simplify it. This student is Nils Henrik David Burr, who later became the only Danish Nobel laureate in physics. Genius is the ability to simplify complex things for the general public to understand.
Certainly the elements of happiness, simplicity and beauty, and beauty includes the beauty of spirit and morality and simplicity include humility and lack of arrogance and vanity while retaining the person pride and pride himself are all elements of happiness with my wishes for happiness for all
Simple, beautiful solutions used to be the most practical, easiest to evaluate and understand them by oneself, and other people. It helps a lot in maturing the inner confidence, and a feeling of happiness.
Adjective SIMPLE has several attractive connotations:
- constituting a basic element: fundamental
- not limited or restricted: uconditional
- readily understood or performed
Noun BEAUTY has the following attractive connotations:
- the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit : loveliness
- a beautiful person or thing
- a brilliant, extreme, or egregious example or instance
No wander that happiness is coming indeed from anything that symbolizes a cross section of the notions above having both quite a few attractive, pleasant aspects invoking happiness as a result.
No, It is partially right. However, there are numerous reasons well beyond simplicity and beauty, that bring happiness to people. The time Confucius lived, life was a great deal simpler than nowadays. More than two millenniums ago people didn't have at hands that amount of physical power, intellectual capacity, knowledge, and gigantic information flows that we currently suffer from and enjoy with. Changes are countless, and they brought much richer set of stimulus and capabilities to enrich our life with moments of happiness, though simplicity and beauty are still working as well.
