I'm looking for reliable methods to lyse filamentous fungi (i.e., mycelium). So far, I have tried freeze/thaw cycles (freezing with either dry ice or liquid nitrogen & thawing at either room temperature or in a boiling water bath), mechanical homogenization and cell lysis buffer.
