In 1913, Nikola Tesla patented a new kind of turbine that required no blades and converted kinetic fluid energy into rotational energy. It uses nozzles that apply fluid to the edges of smooth discs, which then rotate in a chamber to generate rotational movement.

My question is if this is possible to create, why not use it more in different fields? Has anyone done any research on its potential power output with the current technology?
