FaultTree+ is commercial and used for static fault tree and OpenFTA is open source also for static fault tree. I'm looking for a trusted tool that can model DFT and/or CFT.
Have you tried XFTA? I saw one of the creators talk about it in a conference and it seems like a pretty ggod tool. It is free and they clame that it is very fast.
You may look at sharpe, it does not directly have dft but has a very rich set of model types that can be combined together that can satisfy just about all modeling needs.
Also look at my book on prob and stat ..., John wiley
We currently develop a free web-based fault tree analysis tool. Dynamic tree gates are already planned for the next release. Feel free to tell us what features you would need the most ... http://www.fuzztrees.net
"GeNIe is a development environment for building graphical decision-theoretic models. It has been developed at the Decision Systems Laboratory, University of Pittsburgh. "
FuzzTrees got a re-branding and lives now here: https://fuzzed.org
The sources are here: https://github.com/troeger/fuzzed
Due to a lack of developer resources, we are currently focussing on just keeping it running, until we find some helping hands / funding for the further development.
For static fault tree, you can use OpenFTA, which is an open source tool or ALD Fault Tree Analyzer and open AltaRica, which are two free tools that analyzes static fault trees. Also, you can use the free trial version of commercial tools like Isograph Fault Tree++ (7 days), ITEM ToolKit and PTC Windchill FTA (30 days), etc..
For Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis (DFTA), I recommend the use of DFTCalc, which is an open source tool that analyzes Dynamic Fault Tree.
