Only problem is, there are no terms of service against discussing the frauds and predators of the publishing/conference organizing world. All I can find is that outside the US, German laws prevail and Germany has some very outdated laws concerning "insults". The problem is, they have even clearer laws (Unfair Competition Act or UWG, and Telemedia or BSI Act) concerning the business practices of the fraudsters, as in all those unwanted emails we get sent that fraudulently claim presenters and sponsors, especially after telling the email spammers for years to cease and desist.
So KEI, like OMICS (which was fined $50million in the US for their fraudulent business practices), is violating Germany's UWG on a daily basis according to the various threads to date, and especially the one deleted. That deletion was particularly heinous in that it deleted the first hand experiences of people who had been to a predatory for-profit conference and gave details.
And again RG, I have been sent promotional material by KEI operatives trying to get me to sign up to speak at a KEI conference. In that promotional material sent by digital transmission, KEI claimed Keynote Presenters and speakers in their effort to get me to join. I have proof that at least three of those people were fraudulently listed to try to get me and others to sign up, were not attending and were unaware that their names were being published (digital media) as speakers for promotional purposes. As in, they never registered or agreed and yet KEI claimed them which is a violation of the UWG, at least three different paragraphs worth.
NB: this thread with at least 186 answers (as of e-mail-notification So 09.02.2020 13:43 ) has been deleted (by ResearchGate) for unknown reason still. It would be interesting to get an explanation by ResearchGate team why the original thread has been deleted without former notice AND, particularly deplorable, without any significant declaration that this significant Q/A thread against FRAUD, predatory behaviour, dubious and flaky Journals as well as questionable Publishers as well as Congress Organizers has been existing already until mid of February 2020.
NB: This post has to be edited 4 hrs after initial posting:
regarding the NUMBER of Answers in the previous, deleted, thread:
there were 199 answers, as of RG- E-Mail-Notification Fr 14.02.2020 10:42 I already have listed in my personal Outlook system.
RG claimed that "[they] received a Notice of Claimed Defamation from Archives of Applied Medicine, asserting that they have a good faith belief that certain portions of the content constitute defamation to them."
While journals suspicious of being predatory have a lot of rights, researchers who are trying to alert others about the issue do not have any.

Dear Bruno (I will not use any more the "AT"-Function
because such a "typing "AT" character - action
obviously ONLY for me deletes/would delete ALL TEXT I HAVE written until this point....
So thank you for the explanation you gave.... it might have happened accidentally you got information about, or received an intentional, official message by ResearchGate-representatives about the cause. That is ok, but NOT ok that the whole thread has been deleted without any "trace" and/or mentioning a cogent cause /a good reason, especially as an information for previously involved commenters.

And here comes the 2nd Annual Global Conference on Neuroscience and Neurology, this time at McGill University in Montreal!
Dear Chrcanovic,
I am hoping we can discuss the idea of you presenting at the 2nd Annual Global Conference on Neuroscience and Neurology, which is held at McGill University in Montreal this year on Saturday August 22nd. Last year's conference in Chicago provided an interesting insight into the recent advancements in the field and was a great experience both for clinicians and researchers.
The conference can provide hotel accommodation for presenters, and it is possible to apply for travel reimbursement funds. Video streaming services will be available to participants who are unable to travel to the conference.
These are some of the keynote presentations which will be part of the conference. We are also planning sessions with a more narrow focus on several topics.
The early registration deadline has been extended to March 17. More information is available on the conference website at https://conferences.aoamj.org/neuroscience/

Dear Bruno Chrcanovic , it is good to read from you...These "organizers" are more active more than ever...shall come back later on (for pointing to other old and new RG-threads) All the best and keep away from infection....WHM
I also received a thread of e-mails inviting me to conferences from the aoamj Domain re speaking (suggestively formulated so it could be a keynote), including the one you posted above, Bruno. Most of these conferences are waaaay out of my discipline.
Besides the aoamj domain criterion, another typical criterion in detecting that such messages are predatory SPAM is that the e-mail has a list unsubscribe, i.e. even though the messages are formulated as seemingly personal messages, they really go to a whole list of people.

I wanted to get in contact with you about possibly speaking at the World Congress on Cancer Research and Therapy, (March 6, 2021 in Saint Petersburg).
We have planned eight sessions for the congress and are in need of a few more session chairs and presenters. Many of the sessions overlap with other medical specialties such as genetics, immunology, and medical education.
Would it be alright to send you a copy of the congress scientific program?

They don't stop spamming and they are still fraudulently listing speakers who I have had contact with that are not now nor were they ever registered to be a speaker.

The same spam e-mail invitation for the "2nd Annual Global Conference on Neuroscience and Neurology (August 22nd in Montreal)" by P. Jimenez, Ph.D was sent to me as well. I immediately considered it spam for several reasons: the congress is way outside my fields of expertise, I was invited as "Dear Ntourakis", and the congress program had an unusual amount of empty slots and speeches with titles by without the speaker's name.
I found this discussion by looking up information about the "congress" and wanted to thank you for shedding light on these scam events.
Thanks for this thread. I just received a solicitation from one A. Siozos of the "Archives of Applied Medicine" , ([email protected]) Conference Chair, to be a keynote speaker at a "Global Conference on Internal Medicine" in Montreal on March 20, 2021. Like others, not in my area of expertise, etc. Could not find any info on this conference or person, and through investigation ended up on this thread. Maybe another fraudulent conference? Anyone hear of this one as legit? My main question is what is the purpose of all these fraudulent conference invites and journals other than to disrupt legitimate work, and, more importantly, who is benefiting from this?
Any idea about the 2nd Annual Conference on Genetics in Paris.

Dear Dr. Caldwell,
I am hoping we can discuss the idea of you presenting at the Annual Conference on Immunology and Virology (ACIV), which is held in Athens next year on Saturday January 30, 2021. As one of the members of the organizing committee I am working on filling a few remaining speaker slots.
These are some of the presentations which will be part of the conference. In addition to the plenary session there are nine sessions planned which focus on more narrow topics.
· Keynote presentation - Regulatory T cells in cancer: What’s next?
· Tumor Immunology session - T-cell trafficking plays an essential role in tumor immunity
· COVID-19 session - The effect of travel restrictions on the spread of COVID-19
· COVID-19 session - Pathological findings of COVID-19 associated with acute respiratory distress syndrome
· Immunotherapy session - Dendritic cells in cancer immunology and immunotherapy

Concerning the " Annual Conference on Immunology and Virology (ACIV) ", I read the congress announcement and found all the indications that this is a fraudulent congress. There is no scientific or organizing committee, no speaker names and the only names appearing in the program are "those who have dedicated their time to our past conferences".
In addition they ask for 150€ for a two night stay and 250€ for a three night stay in a hotel whose normal rates are between 40-50€ per day for that time period. https://marinaathens.reserve-online.net/?checkin=2020%2D07%2D01&checkout=2020%2D07%2D02&adults=2&room=OFFER&rate=&lang=en&cur=EUR&src=359&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxZTjzb%5F36QIVEcbtCh3Law4NEAoYASAAEgJE%2D%5FD%5FBwE
In the past I have had received similar invitations from the same sender A. Siozos and P. Jimenez Ph.D, for congresses outside my field of interest and expertise to which I had answered by saying that the invitation did not interest me. Now it seems that I am on some kind of mailing list and continue receiving invitations for obscure congresses.
The only solution I could find was to add the mail sender to my black list and get all these emails marked automatically as junk. I also never answer any other "invitations" unless I have sound evidence that they are from a known society.
I would like to ask if anybody knows if these congresses ever take place even with a minimal amount of participants who have been coerced into participating.
It would be interesting to compile a list with "red flags" that will help researchers identify dubious emails.
Dr. Siozos seems to be associated with a number of events. I wonder where he is working. That would give a better sense of the whole thing.
George John , ONLY if you insert the phone number ('858-264-1650') , 'Mr., Dr., Prof. etc. SIOZOS" and other proponents of those spamming and predatory e-mails provide as their 'red-phone-' base, into the browser (googlechrome or mozilla firefox...doesn't matter) and search for it, then you''ll see there are plenty of RG-threads dealing with their headquarters:
just to name it (copied and pasted from search-results):

This in my honest opinion seems to be a deliberate and/or forced censorship-mechanism.
The Google-Maps location of the single-floored GARAGE block at the location/address they try us to believe in can be sent to anyone interested in....
The screenshot of the IMPOSSIBILITY to add the whole reply is contained within the added PPTX.

Once again, just to scrutinize the meaning of the
"end note" of the e-mails sent by

Anybody know what a B2B-communication is??
If not, please cf.:
BUSINESS to BUSINESS-Communication
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business-to-business )
Short discursion taken from there:
Business-to-business (B2B or, in some countries, BtoB) is a situation where
one business makes a commercial transaction with another.
This typically occurs when:
B2B is often contrasted with business-to-consumer (B2C).

Thanks for the information. I was thinking that these are genuine guys. Someone even offered me free accomodation and reduced registration !. I wonder if there was a hidden game.
George John : It would be interesting to see the (mailing, and related 'personal') "data" of the potential "offerer", just to be able perhaps to find 'new' answers...but to prevent such, they included the portentous sentence:
QUOTE:

Dear Carina R Boeck,
100% Spam. I get emails from "P. Jimenez" on a daily basis. It is a plague. I get invited for topics that I know nothing about. If there really is any form of meeting taking place at the time and place they say there is going to be a conference, well, then it must really be a funny sight.
Bart
Invitation to contribute papers in areas unconnected is what makes it dubious.
Dear Wolfgang
Thanks for your information. I recently received different emails from this person (P. Jimenez) with some offers such as accommodation and flight for participating in two different conferences. He even emailed me the conference scientific program. Once he sent the email as a chair for 2nd Pharmacology & Toxicology Conference and few days after another as a chair for Global Conference on Cardiology. When I received the 2nd email, I thought there is something wrong with this. I guess this is some kind of fraudulence and a business That everybody should be aware of.
Thank you very much Wolfgang H. Muss and Bart Roman !!!
We need always stay in "alert status".
Dear Sajad Ahmadizad , you certainly found the b2b notification in the footNote of Mr. Jimenez‘s message, right?
(for convenience only I refer to my answer dated June 11th)
(sent from my iPhone, corr. 20-07-14)
DEFINITELY spam.
I've been recently spammed with emails advertising a "Global Conference on Cardiology"... I am not in the cardiology field which was the first flag. Second flag was that this person followed up less than an hour later (little desperate esp because in academia there is typically ample time given for a response). This type of persistency seemed very sales-like.
When you go to the website referenced ( conferences.aoamj.org/cardiology ) and click on View Program it sends you to a blank empty page... There are no keynote speakers, or even institutions listed anywhere on the webpage. Red flag #3.
Furthermore this reddit link popped up when I searched for the person https://www.reddit.com/r/GradSchool/comments/axh5sd/predatory_conferences/
It was signed off :

After receiving those emails, I googled the name. I found two persons with the same name: one is a researcher who is in researchgate with a weak scientific background (only few publications) and another one with no details. Whoever is he/she apparently is a fraudulent earning money by asking people to pay the conference registration fee.
I have just been invited to this as keynote speaker for the umpteenth time

I realized that I forgot to send you the link to the conference website. It is https://conferences.aoamj.org/medicaleducation/
The list of session topics and a PDF of the preliminary program is available on the site.
Were you thinking that you might be able to attend the conference?

Dear Dr. Caldwell,
I wanted to get in touch with you about participating in the World Congress on Medical and Patient Education, which is held at the Autonomous University of Barcelona on April 2, 2021. Several keynote and session speaker slots are available and I thought you might consider putting together a presentation or attending as a delegate. This year's congress is arranged in two tracks, each with multiple sessions on topics such as medical resident training, technology for patient education, and improving patient-physician communication. The congress will also feature video streaming capabilities to enable those who cannot travel to still participate in the congress.
Travel support and hotel accommodation is available for those who need it.
May I send you a copy of the preliminary program?
Best Regards,
J. Pack, M.D

Thank you for the information. P. Jimenez has been actively trying to recruit me for a " 2nd Pharmacology & Toxicology Conference" in Paris next January (BTW, no sign of the 1st Conference).
I guess this is part of the new normal
Stay vigilant!
This guys are still alive, just hunting:
Dear Dr. Castro,
I'm hoping you can get in touch with me to discuss the idea of you speaking at the congress, either in one of the sessions or as a keynote presentation. The congress will be attended not only by Oncologists, but also by those from many other specialties who can share a unique perspective on related topics such as Genomics, Surgery, Radiology, and Hematology.
Could you please get in contact with me in the next few days?

Dear Dr. Castro,
I wanted to get in contact with you about possibly speaking at the World Congress on Cancer Research and Therapy, (March 6, 2021 in Saint Petersburg).
We have planned eight sessions for the congress and are in need of a few more session chairs and presenters. Many of the sessions overlap with other medical specialties such as genetics, immunology, and medical education.
Would it be alright to send you a copy of the congress scientific program?

Just to finish off with this subject on the " 2nd Pharmacology & Toxicology Conference" in Paris next January . The "organizers" claimed the venue was to be held at the Paris-Sorbonne University conference center . Paris-Sorbonne doesn't exist as such, the official name is Sorbonne Université. I emailed the conference center, and they confirmed that they are not hosting any conference by that name and at that date, and they agree it is most probably a predatory conference (I'm copying their response below. It's in French, but the substance of the message is what I've explained above).
Further, this "Archives of Applied Medicine" is not registered in any reputable database. Also, they use an address in Walnut, CA; which belongs to a journal named Medical Research Archives , part of KEI Journals.
Final words: Stay away from this "journal", and any activities linked to it.

Bonjour,

Pablo Caviedes

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm repeatedly receiving invitations to predatory conferences from: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]
Please find herewith attached some of the messages I've received, with their full headers. I've never subscribed to this kind of messages, and, as you can see from the attached messages, there is no way to unsubscribe.
Looking at the information on the email headers, I find that the messages originate from the IP addresses: 54.240.9.29 54.240.9.244 54.240.9.91 54.240.8.13 54.240.48.102 that, according to the "arin whois" service (https://whois.arin.net/rest/net/NET-54-240-0-0-2/pft?s=54.240.9.91) belong to Amazon SES as an internet host/provider.
Please, prevent this scammers to go on with their activities and bother quite a lot of people: see for instance the thread in ResearchGate:

Dear Pritam Kumar Panda,
I am hoping we can discuss the idea of you presenting at the Global Conference on Cardiology, which is held in Athens next year on Saturday April 17, 2021. As one of the members of the organizing committee I am working on filling a few remaining speaker slots.
The conference features several sessions including cardiovascular disease, heart failure, pediatric cardiology, cardiology education, and congenital heart conditions.
More details are available on the conference website at conferences.aoamj.org/cardiology
May I send you a copy of the preliminary scientific program?

I also have received an email from J. Pack:
" Dear Amisi,
Until the end of this month we are giving away a free ticket to attend the International Pediatric Medicine Conference (May 14, 2021 in Montreal) to everyone who registers for the standard registration package.
If you have a colleague or student who you would like to bring with you to the conference this would be a great opportunity for them to attend free of charge.
To reserve a spot as a session/keynote speaker use the link in my signature below or reply to this email and we can discuss which session would be the best fit.
Best Regards,
J. Pack, M.D. Chair International Pediatric Medicine Conference"
And seeking for the conference in the website of Mcgill university I did not find it.
I previously received invitation emails from a company called BIT, based in China that runs conferences. They invite you as a speaker in your area of research and ask you to register. They are to avoid. The registration fee is more expensive than any conference that I have been to. There is a good summary on wikipedia that describes them well.

Mohammed Alawami : Added honestly: And other -rather long-lasting- Research Gate threads tell you not only similar experience and information....😎🤓
They are getting desperate and are now "offering free hotel accommodation".
Again, I have multiple times unsubscribed or written to them all directly to stop sending me their scam mails and to take me off their email lists, all of them.

Dear Dr. Caldwell,
The early bird registration deadline for the Lung & Respiratory Disease conference is September 15 and I wanted to make sure you were aware that we are offering free hotel accommodation for all presenters and session chairs.
Can I send you a copy of the updated scientific program?

From: P. R. Jimenez, Ph.D. Sent: Monday, August 31, 2020 To: randolph.caldwell@****.de Subject: University of Melbourne COVID-19 research
I wanted to share with you the exciting COVID-19 research that we just released in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic and the University of Melbourne. COVID-19 has presented numerous challenges for the healthcare system, including an overwhelming demand for lung CT scans which exceed the available capacity. A team of researchers has developed a process for incorporating lung ultrasound into the management of COVID-19 respiratory infection, which has both high sensitivity and specificity for assessing lung inflammation and pathology.
Lung ultrasound presents an opportunity for improving screening efficiency and patient care by detecting COVID-19 related lung pathology. It can be performed in any location, and has been demonstrated to reduce the need for chest x-ray and chest CT, which have higher risks of contamination.
This is one of many projects which will be presented at the World Conference on Lung & Respiratory Disease next April. If you would like to receive the full-text of this article or learn more about the conference please reply to this email or refer to the links in my signature below.
Additionally we are searching for a few more session chairs, might you be interested?

Thanks, guys, for info. Just have recieved the invitation to present our works on chloroplast genome symmetry at the conference on applied medical genetics from these persons. F8 all of them...
What is your opinion on this journal ?
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Medical Sciences ISSN Online: 2469-8032 ISSN Print: 2469-8024 √ Open-access (OA) Journal √ Peer-review √ Rapid Publication: 40-90 Days 📷
I received an invitaition from the person mentioned above. The topic of the Conference is nowhere near to a paper of ours published recently based on which the invitation was sent. So I just thoght of looking up what others have to say for such people and the Conferences that they propose to organize.
I received an invitation from the World Journal of Psychiatry to publish my work there. Wikipedia obviously classifies them as a predatory publisher. Any experience with Baishideng Publishing Groupt?
Dear Milena B. Čukić : no experience but - at least - some URLs you should visit for general information:
Stay Safe - Be Brave - Keep distance to another and save a life - perhaps your own - Stay Healthy - and 'atch the Signs...'
regards, WHM
Milena B. Čukić , I have published after invitation, with the World Journal of Gastroenterology which is an open access journal of the Baishideng Publishing Group with an IF of 3,6. The peer review process was not blinded for the reviewers (which is the case for many journals in the field of surgery and gastroenterology) but was followed to the letter and the journal waived the publication processing fee as it was an invited paper. Overall my experience was good and the article received a fair number of citations. Since they have a large number of journals they publish, I can only comment on my particular case.
Milena B. Čukić, I had a rather bad experience with the Baishideng Publishing Group. I received an invitation to publish on the World Journal if Gastroenterology (IF 3.6) . I accepted and submitted the manuscript, which was accepted by the reviewers only with minor revisions. The editor then automatically (without asking or anything) sent the paper to publication in a journal without IF from the same publisher. Only after a couple of angry emails it was possible to stop the whole process and then I've got the work published elsewhere. So in my case totally bad experience with them.
> It is important to check everything before to reply such kind of email

No. Inverse order is correct: It is important to check everything before sending them some paper or even to reply such kind of email.
