Before Gertrud Stein tried to bring abstract art-practices to sketching, writers used terms like "line", "delineation", "frame" etc. to show their affinity to graphic arts (engravings, etchings). Stein seems to imply that sentence structure, sentences, paragraphs, and divisions (like chapters or acts) could be equivalents to line, lineament or frame. What are perspective, color, shadings etc. in prose?
Anybody working on this relation?
