If we are extracting metabolites from bacteria with methanol, which layer should we use (top or bottom layer)?
In liquid- liquid extraction , there should be two immiscible solvents. What is the second solvent, if you have water, it is miscible with water. The top and bottom layers depend on the density of the solvents, top layer has lower density.
Beautiful question and great answers
I wish you success in the service of humanity and science
