Generally speaking, the criteria for assessing native English researchers differ from those used for non-native researchers. Under equal conditions , the most significant difference is language ability. A native like knowledge of language involves several components such as topical knowledge, language knowledge, and pragmatic knowledge. The researcher's topical knowledge , how widely s/he is knowledgeable about various issues of his/her field, is a prerequisite to defining research questions, critical judgment of the literature review , and a sharp vision for future developments. As for language knowledge, nonnative researchers need to have a deep understanding of organizational, textual, and rhetorical specifications of English as well as the way they are crystallized within pragmatic and sociolinguistic domains. Notably, such types of knowledge can satisfy the sensitivities of academic standards that dominate the quality of research studies in the wonderful world of scientific community.
