Dear Colleagues

For all researchers having only two parts in their name viz, First name and Last name there is no confusion but I have confusion for those more than two including myself. My problem is not having a Middle name but Middle name as my actual name. As in most cases (academic publication/ journals accounts), first and last names are given importance and sometimes middle one is omitted. Usually I put middle name at end of first name or before last name if no option is available for middle name.

Regarding this problem, most important thing I found here in research is in Citation. If one adds references by simple manually typing then there will be no problem. But if one uses reference manager software, then it is likely to be changes in format (order) of the name (depending upon the format given in journal account). Probably this may be a reason for less number of citations compared to actual one.

Moreover, some researchers have names like orchid ID eg. xxxx-yyyy-zzzz-dddd. During manuscript submission to a journal, when I suggest them as reviewers, I got confused which one is first/middle/last. Usually, I take first (xxxx) and last (dddd) as first and last name respectively and put the rest (yyyy-zzzz) as middle name. Is it correct?

So, how to write correctly an Author’s First Middle Last Name in journal account so as to avoid any problem?

Your kind views and suggestions are most welcome.

Thanking you
