Hello,

When I run any kind of analysis, an error message comes up saying this:

>Warning # 3211

>On at least one case, the value of the weight variable was zero, negative, or

>missing. Such cases are invisible to statistical procedures and graphs which

>need positively weighted cases, but remain on the file and are processed by

>non-statistical facilities such as LIST and SAVE.

I am using the British election study 2017 data, and I have applied a weighting as instructed by the best team on the handout. Now, some values in the data are zeros, I even recoded some of my variables for example gender: female = 0 and male = 1. Does that mean I need to recode every single variable so there are no zeros, and instead recode so that female =1 and male =2 and so on? Also, since I have missing variables what do I do with those? I thought spss excluded them from my analysis. Is the error message even a problem and should I ignore it?

Many thanks, I've only just started teaching myself how to use spss.
