Our times differ from the age of Shakespeare: we have mass media and psychology. You are fully right to state that good theatre can spread awareness and understanding of our human situation, in terms of creativity.

when I read your question I inmediately think about psychodrama, a field in which I am an expert. Psychodrama both creates awareness to participants and prompts the development of creativity understood as an hability that is present in everyone and can develop and grow when one allows oneself to connect to the present and drops previous, "bottled" answers. Moreno conceptualices this hability as spontainety.

If Drama was a magic wand, then the revolution in creativity would have already occurred. Of course, Drama is not without any affect on society, but nowadays it has to compete with mass media. Unfortunately, Drama is severely limited by space and time. Drama's most powerful 'weapon' in targeting creativity - one need to be bodily present in theater in order to enjoy Drama - is its most dangerous adversary in global society. I am afraid that revolution in creativity, if there will be any, have to spring from some other well... Best, Tomaž
