ELISA for Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) measurement results shows ng/ml, but what does this mean: paper shows HbA1c values below 6.5%
I got the results from ELISA show ng/ml, but all the paper shows The normal level for glycated hemoglobin is less than 7%. how to convert the ng/ml to the percentage
My guess would be that 7% or less of total hemoglobin normally glycosylated. If that percentage is increased higher than that it might indicate to pathology. If you want to convert the ng/ml to the percentage you need to know the total concentration of hemoglobin in ng/ml (glycosylated + non-glycosylated). Then you can calculate the ratio of glycosylated to total hemoglobin in ng/ml and multiply by 100 and you will receive the percent of the hemoglobin which is glycosylated.
