We're looking into ways to subsample filters from eDNA runs (so we don't have to use entire filters all at once) and to preserve filters indefinitely until we need them. Freezing maybe makes sense, but we worry about freeze-thaws damaging what is already degraded DNA. So the question has two parts:
1) Does anyone have any experience with sub-sampling filters for eDNA?
2) What methods have people done with seem to successfully preserve eDNA on filters?
