I have an ATPS microfluidic system and I want to see if the two input flows in the Y channel affect each other's pH. I believe since it's a microfluidic system and the flows have a low Reynolds number and they are also very linear, the pH of each flow does not affect the other.

At the interface of the two fluids it will definitely affect each other's pH, but you will require a very high resolution measurement device to collect the fluid from that region and analyze it. Rest should be right as the Reynolds number is very low. But it is always wise to check in real time whether is it true or not!!!

Amit Morarka Thank you for the reply. However, I was wondering that the diffusion terms are so strong at microscales that it would mix the pH values.
diffusion terms will show its significant effect when the mean free path of the particles of the fluids becomes comparable to the dimension of the device "Nanoscale". The volume which you are handling will have diffusion effects observable as temperature of the fluids is increased without changing any other parameters. Whether the fluids are static or not, the diffusion will happen. The parameters, the dimension of the microfluidic devices that you are using, your instrumentation sensitivity and time evolution of the interacting fluids will decide what you will see and to what extent!!!
