I want to know if HF dissolve silicon nanowire. If we passivate the silicon nanowires by HF treatment would it cause any reduction of length of nanowires? If yes then how?
Thank you @ Abdelhalim Zekry. yeah I mean to say that as we know it dissolve the silicon dioxide .So removal of the oxide layer may result in reduction of length of nanowires or not.
Yes Si can disslove in excess of HF due to formation of SiF4 and hence H2SiF6 but the dissociation process is very slow. Better use diluted HF for passivation.
