Does eosin stains collagen in IHCs in typical H&E staining? Please share your thoughts below as comments. Please add a reference if possible (much appreciated).
H&E stains (eosin) collagen of different composition that shows characteristic patterns when examined under light polarization or fluorescent microscope. For example, the collagen of DFSP vs. dermatofibroma shows opposite polarization. I don’t use fluorescent microscopy but I attached an article you may find interesting. Also try this DOI for studies of dermal collagen and polarized light.
