DNA is not information. DNA is a molecule that builds proteins that can generate a organism when expressed. We can certainly view DNA as information, as part of an analysis, and to help us talk about it, but saying, “DNA is information,” is boiling a complex aspect of reality down to overly-simplistic, ambiguous, and vague terms.

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the blueprint for all inherited characteristics in living things. It is a very long sequence, written in code, that needs to be transcribed and translated before a cell can make the proteins that are essential for life. Any sort of changes in the DNA sequence can lead to changes in those proteins, and, in turn, they can translate into changes in the traits those proteins control. Without DNA no life.

No, human evolution has not stopped, and indeed cannot be stopped. What we must do is change the way we interact with each other and with our planet, so that the evolutionary forces that continue to shape us will not drive us to premature extinction, or rob us of the essence of our humanity.
