Does decreased respiration rate of the mitochondria due to tubulin-VDAC interaction result to mitochondrial depolarization?

I am currently analyzing a paper on Parkinson's disease. The paper said that MPTP induced beta-III tubulin increase in dopaminergic cells would result to a detrimental interaction with the mitochondria because this interaction would cause decreased respiration rate of the mitochondria.

Hi Benji,

I think generally decereased respiration results in depolarization of mitochondrial membrane potential. Check this reference out.
