I accidentially centrifuged my EDTA blood samples with 3500 g instead of 3500 rpm (roughly 1700 g) for 10 minutes. We want to measure the level of cytokines in the plasma. Do you think that the centrifugation speed will alter the levels?
Agree with both of them. For plasma or serum separation from blood, you can centrifuge at the high speed 14,000rpm for 5-10 min. lower speed does not affect the protein levels in the serum, however you might lose some quantity of plasma sample due to inadequate centrifuging. You could repeat centrifugation to check whether your centrifugation is adequate.
