Does anyone know if samples in Saccomanno's fixative (50% EtOH + 2% PEG) can be stored at -20°C instead of 4°C without disturbing cellular integrity?

During my research, samples need to be collected at the patient's home and sent to our lab. Since it is easier to transport it using dry ice (-20°C) than transporting it at 4°C I was wondering if the Saccomanno's fixative can be used at -20°C.
