I am planning to a protein purification and most protocols suggest using P11 phosphocellulose resin (Whatman); however, this product has been discontinued by GE Healthcare. In the website it states that the rights to the lines of this product was acquired by Thermo Fisher but I could not find anything on Thermo's website. So I was wondering if there were any suggestions/alternatives as to how to prepare phosphocellulose chromatography columns. Thanks!

If you can't obtain phosphocellulose resin, then you might be able to use either an anion-exchange resin such as SP-Sepharose (if the phosphocellulose was just acting as a general anion exchange resin) or ceramic hydroxypatite (if it was the interaction with phosphate that mattered).
this product worked for me the same way P11 did.

This is an old thread, but the original Whatman P11 appears on ebay from time to time -- I have previously bought a 100-gram sealed sachet off ebay, it worked.
