I am doing a welding simulation in ANSYS. For doing this I would like to know how can we simulate a moving heat source in ANSYS apdl.
To do so, the local coordinate system can be used in a do loop. The origin of the local CS is moving in the do loop and the heat input is applied according to the local CS.

Despite the GUI operations in the video, it is better to use a do loop for multi-steps heat input. To use APDL (macro) is suggested.

When I simulated the moving heat source using APDL in ansys, the more refined mesh results in the different results and the difference was significant. Do you know why?

The more refinement, the more accurate the results will be. If you are doing the refinement on the path of heat source, then it is perfect as it is the area of concentration.
