i am doing welding simulation for that i have to import geometry file which should be in NASTRAN format (.bdf). Does anybody know how to create a geometry file in nastran format (by using any software), or is there any method to convert iGES or other file format into the nastran file format

IGES is pure geometry, i.e. vertex,, line, area, etc.. Nastran bdf is mesh, i.e. node coordinates and elements.
You need to import your IGES and convert it to STL, or export it as STL format, which will turn your surfaces into triangles - likely with a very poor mesh quality that may ruin your welding simulation.
In any case, I believe that GMSH (a freeware) imports IGES and is able to directly export Nastran bdf. Give it a try. http://geuz.org/gmsh/
If you need better mesh quality, use GMSH or some other mesher (e.g. Salome, http://www.salome-platform.org/,which is also freeware ) to improve the mesh quality.
