my question is very simple: I've purchased some human oligodendrocyte precursor cells from Sciencellonline, when I received the cells, I read something quite disappointing on the datasheet: do not subculture the cells since they won't proliferate in vitro. It implies I've just wasted a lot of money on a cell line which I can't even do any single experiment. Does anyone have worked on this cell line before? is there any limited passage numbers I can still try to risk? Thanks!

There must be something wrong with the data sheet that you received with the visal that had been sent to you along with the HOPC cells. Though I never used this specific cell lines, I used other cells, that I obtained from ScienCell and they were good.
Just by running a quick online search I found the data sheet for the HOPC cells listed in the ScienCell website, which clearly provided the sub culturing protocol for the frozen cells.
I am sharing this as a ready reference.

Hi Amritlal, thank you for your kind reply. The HOPC data sheet you attached is quite helpful. Nevertheless, It says in bold that 'it is not recommended that precursor cells be subcultured beyond their initial plating', this is the confusing part.
