In studies I see dates about length, but what does the by mother inhaled and absorbed steroid with embryo's gut in the future? Are there differents between budesonide, cyclesonide or beclomethasone?
in my opinion, the use of the inhalatory medicines such as budesonide, ciclesonide or beclomethasone is safe from the embryological point of view. The total blood concentration of these substances does not reach the values usual by the systemic therapy using glucocorticoid administration in tablets or injections. There is no evidence of the human embryo damage as the impact of the inhalatory glucocorticoid administration. Retrospective epidemiological studies and a randomized, placebo-controlled, multicentre trial found no clinically or statistically significant effects on fetal outcomes among more than 6600 infants whose mothers were exposed to orally inhaled budesonide during pregnancy (Gluck and Gluck, 2005).
