I am using the "simple" model you can see on the images below.
I would like to use the FRIC subroutine to define a friction model. I would like to start with the Coulomb model and then define another one more complicated.
But I don't know the Fortran syntax. So it would be very helpful to get some help about how to write a FRIC subroutine and then how to use it in Abaqus.

thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I already know this document and it does not contain anything helpful on the FRIC subroutine...There is only a definition at the beginning and that is all.
Maybe you know some other documentation ?

thanks a lot it is very helpful.
However, when I used the Coulomb subroutine, it seems the PROPS(1), which correspond to the static friction coefficient, is not read in the subroutine. Though I specified it in the CAE.
Do you have any clue ?
How do you know that its not recognized?
Did you check the log file?
You can however define Props(1) as a constant in the subroutine and dont give it in cae. Then you can be sure whether props(1) is the problem or something else !
For e.g.
Xmu = 0.2 instead of Xmu = props(1)
check for errors in parallel studio,
sometimes C is not at the first coloumn, and sometimes the continuation line in not in the 6th coloumn.
