With the acceleration of time and the predominance of personal interest on public interests, emerged hypocrisy, lack of ethics in dealing and others social phenomena, what do you think is the reason?
In Serbia, moral values are lost. When it comes to education, has no ethics. In schools is a mess. Children and their parents do not respect teachers. They attack the teachers, threatening them and comes to physical confrontation ... This is the whole of society. Who is guilty. All of us, and the media, the desire to quickly get to the top, the wrong role models, the desire to earn a lot of money ...
Unfortunately, yes ... as the society as a symbol is a structure that combines all the people, according to sex, age and religion, which combines the bonds of values and ethics. However, noble human values have witnessed a deterioration and a great decline within the society that is on the way to reproducing and shaping it.
But the nations are morals. If they go, day after day, the situation grows darker and worse. We know a moral and moral coup. The deterioration of education has contributed effectively to the social situation, in addition to alienating individuals from sources that call for honesty and intellectual and moral advancement.
People who consider things to have moral input and importance tend to view the world darkly, notwithstanding that even the recent past was considerably worse. ISIS pervaded the world-was not that infinitely worse? There is no deterioration nor the slightest evidence for it, except maybe in personal terms of what morality means-a term I am always very suspicious of. ISIS considered itself moral and the deaths it wrought was apparently moral cleansing.
The world, with a few hiccups, is softly gliding towards greater understanding and tolerance. Perhaps dealing with superstition, ideology and fixed understandings of the world is still required.
Yes. The expression ''A fish rots from the head down'' (https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/fish-rot-from-the-head-down.html) is relevant to the main question of the thread.
I think that what we live today in our societies of contemporary crises and challenges is not in all cases due to the economic, social and political ... But the crisis goes beyond these data to become a crisis of values

The moral crisis is the most visible in societies with high level of survival cultural values (based on World Values Survey model): personal safety and wealth, high obedience to power and learned hopelessness, "to seem rather than to be", to get more for working less. These cultures value honesty, morality, dignity, merit etc. very low.
The problem may not be moral values, over time there are a lot of collapses in different values, but with more sites of communication and openness to different communities we are late in discovering it
Do you think there is a moral crisis in societies right now?
Based on my personal observation & opinion, yes there is a moral crisis in our society.
What do you think is the reason?
Agreed with the reasons shared by previous researchers / scholars. Also want to add reasons: social disparity, economic disparity, companies' strategies e.g. CXO performance nowadays are being measured by months / quarters instead of years to meet all the top / bottom lines, family values or the way children are being brought up e.g. self-centeredness etc.
The crisis of values that contemporary societies are living in is a withdrawal of the patterns and norms such as religion, philosophy and history ... which played a fundamental role in shaping the system of values within societies. This raises the need to rethink their cognitive status, which requires them to review themselves and engage in The issues of society that arose in her womb from ancient times
The etical crisis is more clear than the moral crisis because it means the loss of the identity of societies in light of material life. Such as Principles, values, constants and ideals have been absent and replaced by physical measures of human behavior
Morals start with the family. Whoever keeps own children under guidance morals not lost. This is rare today, when youngsters want to be the "success people" of today, like film actors, drug lords and bomb throwers. Those are over-stressed in the news, the good guys are not in the news anymore.
As long as people are struggling to overcome hunger and socio-economic uncertainties, moral crisis will be endless. We only hope to secure our upright attributes in the event these societal upheavals.
All the people of each period must stand up for their beliefs and evaluate their actions. Later, they will discover that they have made many mistakes, so that they will evaluate themselves in the hope of apologizing or changing their behavior by dealing with others again.
I believe reason behind this is that we have begun to believe that our "world" is made of only "our self", the modern technology to a certain is responsible for this, we find almost everything we need within our grasp through the net, and the list becomes larger day by day, this creates a kind of buffering between the virtual world and the real world of which we are part of.
