I am studying the effects of a viral infection on organs such as liver and pancreas. I have histological slides of the organs and I would like to use a simple score system that would allow me to characterize damage extension in the organs, so I can correlate it with other data I have.
The Gleason grading system for prostatic carcinoma is the dominant method around the world in research and in daily practice. This technique was developed by Dr Donald F Gleason, a pathologist in Minnesota, and members of the Veterans Administration Cooperative Urological Research Group (VACURG).
An osteoarthritis (OA) cartilage pathology assessment system based on six grades, which reflect depth of the lesion and four stages reflecting extent of OA over the joint surface had also been developed.
