I do not beleive so, We can play with our physical structure in order to convey a very different physical and charming personality. If our physical structure has a very graceful appearence, it will help a lot. On the contrary, if we worry about our physical personality, we need to invest time and money to show the image we desire to convey.
Personality is tightly related to our psychology, and neurology, both have the biological foundation, i.e. our physic makeup. However, despite outside differences in skin color, height, etc. the inner makeup, the composition, the genetic blueprint of almost all human beings are not that different. Personally I rather hold the position that it is things other than pure physic structure that make us differ in personality, e.g., neurological pathways that are formed while we grow up, unhappy or traumatic experiences that are stored in our memory, etc, that exert influence upon our personality, either in a short term sense or in a long term sense.
Physical appearance is the first thing to determine the personality, but it is only one part of personality. Nobody can change his physical appearance but can change his personality. His education, his family background, his surroundings, his views about life, his self confidence are other things, create personality of an individual.
A talented person with odd physical structure indeed treated differently, but it is only prima faci effect. Result depends upon the evaluation of overall personality. If somebody does not consider overall personality and take decision only on the basis of Physical structure than he is not on only fails to comply his duty but also commit a moral offence.
Often appearance deceit the content. Hence in HR, we go for iterative selection process and not depend on one instance selection. Further in areas where physical capability is mandated, optimal level as prescribed by the medical board is strictly adhered.
Usually, people think that they are material beings related physical body, enclosed in bone, flesh and skin. If you think that your existence depends on the material of the image, you will inevitably feel the danger of extinction, because no physical form is not eternal; no body, no matter how beautiful it may be a young man, does not retain the same energy and charm in old age. If you identify with your youth, or beauty, or intelligence, or achievements - that you are constantly pursuing the idea that these qualities can disappear.
Only physical structure is not enough to determine the personality. Personality is a combination of various things that a person has. Physical fitness may give any one a good appearance but his/her body language, literature, behavior etc will reflect the personality contained.
This is interesting, not only in psychologic, but also in medical terms. Some physical aspects not only influence the type of personality, but also the tendency to react to stress, and the tendency for some specific diseases that in their own terms can affect personality traits..
I should answer that both physical traits and personality traits closely interact and closely influence each other.
From the psychologic point of view, slim high statured people are usually more aggressive, more vivid and prone to fits of aggressiveness, they are the so-called Leptosomic characters, always prone to jump and to react vividly to stress. They may tend to have schyzoid personality traits...
On the other opposite pole, you'll find fatty, low hight characters, usually defined as cyclothymic, more prone to depressive states, to obesity, and to cycles of anxiety and depression, in a bipolar disease manner...
The position of the stomach in those two types will be more vertical in the leptosomic type, and more horizontal in the cyclothymic type, thus aggravating the characteristics of both extreme types...
In medical terms, most people will fall into a mixture of both physical types, thus having characteristics of both... Or in the middle term, to be considered as normosomic.
I found this interesting, on Kretschmer's physical types and their influence on personality traits, in criminology.
Nevertheless, these classifications may have so many exceptions, and mixed genetic trends, that they are difficult to apply. They remain as an interesting medical observation, on the first approach to a patient.
Physical structure is obviously associated with tasks, as ant casts or as revealed in sports (e.g. the ideal design for sprint versus marathon)? Thus, do some physical-structure related tasks require other personalities than other physical-structure related tasks?
Face is a mirror & it is natural that it reflects our appearance .Appearance should not be mixed up with the personality as it has its roots on our mind ,brain power ,& in our working environment it also results into our conscious & subconscious mind .
Personality is our behavior, our approach ,our joining & meeting with our working environment & also with the different members with whom we are coming in contacts .Personality speaks for our intelligence-Knowledge -with our different hobbies ,our characteristic ,which becomes the total sum of our personality .
In a lot of occasion people are judged by their physical structure and the first Impression which may remains is closely affected by physical structure
Personality is the aggregate of a person’s feelings, thinking, behaviors and responses to different situations and people. Every person has a different personality and there are a lot of factors which contribute to that personality. We call them the ‘determinants of personality’ or the ‘factors of personality’.
Determinants and Factors of Personality:
Personality can be summarized in the following important points:
◾Every person has a different personality, which is the result of various factors that shape it up. We call them the ‘determinants of personality’ or the ‘factors of personality’.
◾These determinants or factors of personality can be divided into 4 major categories: environmental factors, physical factors, situational factors and heredity factors.
◾Contrary to many beliefs, heredity factors are indeed major determinants of personality.
◾Personalities change over time. As an individual grows, experiences different environments, lives and works with other people, and as his physical structures change, his personality also evolves.
Personality is the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character.
If we are looking at someone ....at first instinct a kind of image of that particular person will develop in our mind but later on when we communicate with him/her or correlate or know more about him/her, we develop a specific perception about the person and that will develop his/her personality in our point of view.
Now the person is having the same characteristics or not ,the perception will not change easily by us for him/her.
Do you believe that physical structure determines our personality?
Physical structure is shaping our personality partially. Our personality is also influenced by our other attributes like cognition, will power, spirituality etc. We do observe some people with weak physique or are handicapped physically can excel in using his / her other strengths like cognition, will power etc.
