In view of the potential for Covid-19 reinfection and the weak immune response and short duration in patients previously infected with Covid-19, many doubts have emerged if the virus is capable of eliciting a robust and durable immune response by the human immune system. So, the major concern is that if vaccines are made of attenuate SARS-Cov-2 viruses, they probably will need multiple boosts to induce a proper immune response and memory. Would this be enough to protect humanity from Covid-19?

Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst about COVID-19 vaccine!
Before the phase 3 trials began for the COVID-19, the hope as well as announcement has been that the early results of the immune response as judged by antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 and as well as the duration and efficacy of antibodies to ward of COVID-19 or re-infection will be available sometimes in October 2020.
However there have been reports of neurological complications of COVID-19 vaccine associated with multiple sclerosis and transverse myelitis. Therefore, longer it takes to announce initial phase 3 trial of the COVID-19 vaccine beyond October 2020, more are the chances that the COVID-19 vaccine is not as safe and effective as it was hoped.
Therefore hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst news about COVID-19 vaccine.
Thank you. I know of several persons known of mine that were infected and 2-4 months later do not have an immune (Abs) trace against the virus. And one person who contracted the infectiin again.
I assume that yearly vaccination with most prevalent strains are required to induce immunity and this is similar to what we can see in Influenza.

The ongoing phase 3 trial of COVID-19 vaccine is with two vaccine injections unlike one injection Influenza vaccine that is enough for one year.
I expect if the phase 3 trials of COVID-19 vaccine are successful, benefit will be like influenza vaccine (not total protection but less severe infection or reinfection) but vaccine injection frequency can be more than 2 per year.
