in developing countries like India, head neck cancers are the most common cancers specially in male population. will there be a significant improvement in patient outcome if screening programmes are conducted by ENT surgeons??
Screening programs has two important functions. The first and most obvious is the identification of the disease being searched. The second and probably the most important is to draw public attention to the problem. In tumors early diagnosis is critical and is directly related to the prognosis of the disease.
Health screening are important. They help in preventing diseases that would have attacked us in the very near future. Head and neck cancers are very dangerous. It is always better to detect them at early stages in patients for immediate medical redress rather than leaving the situation to escalate. The only right way to tract the state of head and neck cancers is through regular screening exercises. Best regards
