I would like to differentiate a population of SH-SY5Y cells and then lift them from the culture substrate and mix them into a collagen gel with beta amyloid. I would let them differentiate in the gels but I would not be able to get the beta amyloid into the gels days later once the cells were mature.
NB (neuroblastoma) cells have been reported to exhibit differentiation by RA (retinoic acid) as well as APL (acute myeloid leukemia type3 cells).

I have another SY5Y question, ATCC says they grow adherent as well as in suspension. So far when I split the cells I collect the old media as well as the lifted cells and centrifuge them to be plated again, but then I am not getting rid of any dead cells. Should I coat the flask with laminin to make all the healthy cells adhere then replace the media to remove the dead cells that are floating?
