I agree with Babak Saravi . I was also reading PROSPERO guideline and came across that "Scoping reviews and literature reviews are not eligible for inclusion in PROSPERO"
It is good to register the protocol as you do not want anyone else to do the exact same review. However, currently the scoping review protocols cannot be registered at PROSPERO, but you can upload it at Open Science Framework (OSF). OSF accepts the protocols which do not qualify for the registration at PROSPERO. Also, for the sake of visibility and transparency of your work, you can publish your scoping review protocol. Journals that I know for publishing the scoping review protocols are BMJ Open and Systematic Reviews.
PROSPERO does not accept scoping review protocols to be registered (this may change in the future). However, there are other open research repositories:
https://osf.io/
https://figshare.com
Here you can upload your protocol. It is not a requirement for publication for scoping reviews but encouraged. More information on this:
I would like to know if the pre-registration of the protocol of my Scoping Reviews is necessary conditio sine qua non ? Or as I understand it is the reason for some zealous reviewers to question excellently and methodologically done papers? I could have your opinion, thanks.
